Should I start a blog?

Wow if I had a penny for every time I’d heard that!

So you’re looking to start a business online and you’ve probably been told that one of the best ways to build authority is to have a blog.

Considering that you’re probably reading this on our blog it’d be a bit weird of me to tell you that you don’t need a blog wouldn’t it!

So I’m not going to…

The thing is though it’s not so much a question of should you or shouldn’t you have a blog, It’s more a question of what should your expecations be for that blog and how does it fit in with your overall marketing plan?

How soon can you expect to make money with your blog and what should you do in the meantime?

So Should I Start a Blog and How Does Having a Blog Fit In With The Overall Marketing Plan?

Glad you asked, In fact I just shot a video that covers that exact question.

In the video I talk about:

  • The difference between active prospecting and passive marketing
  • Which one is most important and when?
  • What you need to do first
  • The ideal time to get started with your blog
  • What your blog can do for you if it’s set up the right way
  • Where you can go to get your blog set up

Check out the video below:

So as you can see from the video, if you’re asking the question ‘should I start a blog?’ no matter where you are in your marketing process, it will be a good idea for you to get a blog set up.

it will be a serious asset to your business that you will be able to build upon and never lose your investment as long as you keep it online.

It’s your online space that you can brand as your own and it can’t be taken from you by an over zealous employee at a social media company.

I know it can seem a little daunting when first looking to get your blog setup, but think about it. After the initial frustration of planning out your content and wrestling with the various technical isues, you’ll have a resource that will go to work for you 24/7, for as long as you keep it online.

It never gets tired, it never needs a holiday or even a bathroom break.

Even if you do need a holiday, your blog will be patiently working away for you, never complaining, never asking you for anything…it’s like the perfect employee!
